A recent incident in Indian Railways left the officials in shock. One of the busiest metro stations in India started streaming hardcore pornography videos in the middle of the day. The video about the above incident went viral and the company which is handling the network promised that a thorough investigation will be done, as stated on Sunday. This pornographic footage was broadcasted on a TV screen which is usually reserved for different commercials and advertisements. All these advertisements mostly include luxury property or credit card schemes and nothing like this ever been happened before. The  OurMine hackers who also call themselves as “An online security group” have performed “The biggest hack in the history of Youtube.” Due to this, hundreds of famous Youtube channels are compromised. As per the reports, OurMine group has hacked hundreds of Youtube channels and the Videos of the channels which got hacked displayed a hashtag “#Ourmine” as the title and description of each video has been changed to “Hey, it’s OurMine, don’t worry we are just testing your security, please contact us for more information.” All the compromised channels are of different sizes, and some of them are even big guns. Most notable of all of these is the Studio 71, which is a niche of a wide network of websites. Considering the gigantic size of the Google Play store, one can easily agree that malicious apps might exist on the platform. But what’s has been known lately has a hidden surprise element. A malware, disguised as managed to exist on the Google Play Store for around three years since it was last updated in 2014. It might have lived for some more time if a security firm Zscaler didn’t contact Google regarding the existence of the app, hiding a spyware called SMSVova. “The application updates and enables special location features,” reads the description on the app’s page which itself looked rather dubious, featuring blank white screenshots. Still, the app had a download count between one and five million. People who downloaded the app posted reviews stating that the app didn’t update their system and their device froze after the installation. Facebook’s developer conference F8 is known to show off company’s upcoming products and research work. Yesterday, in his F8 keynote, Mark Zuckerberg announced Facebook’s foray into Augmented Reality with its camera platform. It was followed by an exciting announcement from Facebook’s mysterious Building 8 (B8). Facebook started its Building 8 team to create futuristic gadgets. On Wednesday, the company revealed the details of two of the six projects that are underway. Regina Dugan, the head of Building 8, explained that a team of 60 engineers is working to build a brain-computer interface. Dugan has previously headed Google’s similar Advanced Technology and Projects Group; she was also the director of the Pentagon’s DARPA research agency. The student developers at IIT Kharagpur have given a new face to the National Digital Library of India project in the form of a smartphone app. The National Digital Library project is sponsored by the Ministry of HRD. Using the NDL app, anyone can access the extensive collection of 6.5 million e-books which are a part of the NDL’s knowledge bank. The virtual repository holds academic resources for various state-level education board, CBSE, research papers, audio books, and leading competitive exams including JEE, GATE, UPSC, etc. The app supports three languages, namely, Hindi, English, and Bengali with more languages to follow soon. It offers browsing categories on the basis of type, source, subject, and learning resources. Currently, the NDL app is available for the Android platform.
