Fraudsters are stealing from bank accounts by diverting calls and text messages

The fraudsters are stealing a large sum of money from the victim’s bank accounts by taking the control of their mobile phones and then intercepting the texts messages sent by the banks. The fraudsters are again gathering as much info as possible on the victims and using a method we warned the public in the past named SIM splitting, to gain the access to bank accounts of people. This is the Money investigation found which one victim from the London lost £22,300 when these fraudsters raided their Santander accounts using the method. Two more victims had drained   £19,500  from their accounts after the criminals intercepted their bank’s text messages. How does this fraud work? Step 1: Initially the fraudsters have harvested as much as they can about the targetted individual. This includes intercepting their post, searching public information on the search engines/social media, tricking them into the installing of malware or buying the information from the Organised Crime Groups. Step 2: ...

Hackers can Steal Keyless BMW Remotely within Seconds [Video]

As recently as April 4, a security camera recorded two people simply walking around a car and one of them was holding some type of bag close to the front door of a house. Next thing you know; they managed to steal a BMW. This has happened only days after a Mercedes was taken in a very similar way in the United Kingdom. The car in question, the £60,000 BMW X5, seemed to have disappeared from the driveway while its owners slept. Upon investigating the CCTV footage, it was revealed that two thieves stole it by using some transmitting device that was apparently hidden inside the bag which extended the signal coming from the car keys inside the house. This model uses a keyless start system, which means that the car can be unlocked only by having the fob relatively close, or in this case, transmitting its signal so that the car would assume that you have the keys with you. Since both of the vehicles were stolen in Essex, it’s believed that they are being stolen by a gang that’s targeting val...

Here is Why Everyone Should Be Thankful For Hackers

Hackers are an interesting subculture and, as such, they get a fair bit of attention from the media. The idea of a teenager breaking into high security databases is fascinating and more than a little terrifying. However, hackers aren’t all teenagers, nor are they all focused on breaking into places they shouldn’t be. In this article, we’ll look at some reasons why the general public can actually be thankful for hackers. The White Hat Hackers The first reason people should be thankful for hackers is that not all hackers are fixated on breaking into your computer and stealing your data. In fact, hackers see themselves as a group with several subgroups. The black hat hackers are the ones who break into systems for material gain. Gray hat hackers, on the other hand, are in it for personal recognition mostly, but they still break important rules. It’s the white hat hackers that really do good work, however, by hacking into sites in order to help those sites test and improve their security...

Student Faces 10 Years In Prison For Creating And Selling Limitless Keylogger

Image
A 21-year-old former Langley High School student, who won a Programmer of the Year Award in high school, pleaded guilty on Friday to charges of developing and selling Limitless Keylogger  malware that infected thousands of victims. Zachary Shames from Virginia pleaded guilty in a federal district court and now faces a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in prison for his past deeds. Shames was arrested this summer while he was working as a technical intern at Northrop Grumman, a security and defense government contractor, developing front-end site code and backend Java software and managing a MySQL database, according to what appears on his Linkedin page. According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Shames developed a keylogger in 2013 that allowed users to steal sensitive information, including passwords and banking credentials, from a victim's computer, while he was still a high school student in 2013.   Keylogger is malicious software designed to record every...

Types of Hackers You should know

What Is a Hacker?    The basic definition of a hacker is someone who uses a computer system to gain unauthorized access to another system for data or who makes another system unavailable. These hackers will use their skills for a specific goal, such as stealing money, gaining fame by bringing down a computer system, or making a network unavailable -- even sometimes destroying them. However, there are three different types of hackers, each with a particular goal, and not all are the bad guys. Types of HACKERS White Hat:  A “white hat hacker” breaks security for non-malicious reasons, either to test their own security system, perform penetration tests or vulnerability assessments for a client - or while working for a security company which makes security software. White-hat hackers may also work in teams called "sneakers",red teams, or tiger teams. Black Hat:  A "black hat" hacker is a hacker who "violates computer security for little reason beyond maliciousness...
